Ex-MLA arrested

IMPHAL, May 25 � Former Manipur MLA N Nodiachand of Uripok constituency has been arrested for allegedly luring candidates with false promiseof recruitment in State Police.

The former MLA in connivance with his accomplices � Chongtham Bilanta and Thounaojam Tondon cheated Constable aspirants with malafide intention for wrongful gain in the written test of the police recruitment, said SP Imphal West District K Jayentakumar.

A case has been registered at Imphal Police station and accused Ex-MLA N Nodiachand (70), a resident of Uripok Yambem Leikai has been arrested and produced before the court on Friday, he added.

On May 23, giving their mobile numbers, the former MLA and the two persons through an advertisement in an Imphal-based vernacular daily asked candidates to come and meet them in person for the recruitment of constables.
