GUWAHATI, Sept 13 � NN Rana Patgiri, the OSD to the Department of Handloom and Textile (BTC) was today arrested by the Anti-Corruption and Vigilance Wing of the Assam Police in connection with the multi-crore rupee embezzlement case (Anti-corruption police station case number 4/2011) reported during Patgiri�s tenure as the Artfed chairman.
Patgiri has been primarily booked under Sections 12 and 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Based on intelligence inputs, Patgiri was arrested from near the Sohum Shoppe on the GS Road today and questioning is on, sources said.
�We have been looking for him for the last few months and finally caught hold of him,� the sources pointed.
