GUWAHATI, Dec 29 - On the direction of the Gauhati High Court, the Kamrup (Metro) district administration today carried out a massive eviction drive against illegal encroachment in Jalukbari area under Guwahati revenue circle.
The drive was carried under the supervision of Circle Officer (CO) of Guwahati revenue circle Aditya Gogoi and CO (attached) Barenya Borthakur.
Gogoi said the government land was freed from the illegal encroachments. Houses and shops including street vending kiosks were evicted along the stretch from Lankeswar to near the Jalukbari Outpost.
