DHUBRI, Oct 23 - A couple was arrested by the Golokganj Police for allegedly being involved in human trafficking.
Police arrested a man and his wife Amiruddin Miah and Anowara Bibi of Silakhana area under Coochbehar, West Bengal from Sitogoma area under Golokganj PS for allegedly being involved in human trafficking.
Police took this action after a case was lodged about a missing girl of West Gaikhowa about a month ago. The missing girl, who was later recovered, stated that the duo from West Bengal had trafficked her to Delhi, where she was harassed by many men.
Police also informed that such cases are on the rise along the Indo-West Bengal border. With the arrest of the duo, the police hopes to net a few more people involved in human trafficking soon.
