Dr Bhupen Hazarika remembered at Biswanath

BISWANATH CHARIALI, Nov 8 - The fourth death anniversary of Dr Bhupen Hazarika was observed at Sariyahbil, an interior place along the Assam-Arunachal border under the aegis of the Pabhoi unit of AASU and Loti Chari Amei in which around 5000 people sang Manuhe manuhar babey in Bodo, Karbi, Nepali and Garo languages. The song was arranged by artists Pradip Khound, Manik Borah and Hamida Khatun.

The anniversary was observed in an environment of mixed ethnic culture such as those of the Bodos, Karbis and Garos through their respective presentations. The programme was conducted by AASU�s central assistant secretary, Duldul Borkataki and Pabhoi unit�s general secretary Jintu Borah while the welcome address was delivered by Someswar Basumatary and Charsingh Takbi. Several cultural programmes and an ethnic food fair were also presented on the occasion.
