HAFLONG, May 1 - The Dimasa Students' Union (DSU) has strongly condemned the recent abduction and killing of Santosh Hojai, a trader and a former DHD member, by a group of unidentified miscreants in Dima Hasao district.

A press release issued by Nigom Langthasa, publicity secretary, DSU (central committee) today stated that kidnapping and killing of Hojai is a matter of grave concern.

It was learnt that five unidentified miscreants came to Hojai's house on a white Bolero on the evening of April 24 and abducted him. The decomposed body of Hojai was found on April 30 at the Lailing area under the Langting Police Station.

The victim's family stated that the police, unfortunately, failed to apprehend the kidnappers so far.

The DSU, as well as the general public in the district, demanded that the culprits be brought to book as early as possible. The district administration can also hand over the case to CBI or NIA for further investigation, added the students' body.
