Dhubri girl rescued from sex racket

DHUBRI, July 10 - A girl who went missing three months back from Mutakhawa village under South Salmara PS of Dhubri district was rescued by the police from a red light area of Siliguri.

Sources informed that the girl was allegedly trafficked by one Somesh Ali who lured her by promising to marry her and provide employment. Later she was sold to a sex racket. She was later rescued from a red light area of Khalpara of Siliguri in West Bengal. The father of the victim had also lodged an FIR number 212/19, under Section 363, 365,387 of the IPC for kidnapping and wrongful confinement.

Police said that no arrest in this regard has been made till now and the girl has been handed over to the custody of her father.
