Dhemaji students� protest today

GUWAHATI, Oct 27 � Members of the Dhemaji District Students� Union (DDSU) will form a human chain at Gainadi area tomorrow to register their resentment over the failure of the State government to implement the Rs 100-crore package announced by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi during his visit to the district after the devastating flood of August 15 last.

DDSU general secretary Jyotish Konch told this newspaper that thousands of DDSU members and the people of the district would take part in the agitational programme scheduled to commence from 11 am tomorrow.

The DDSU has been demanding adequate compensation to the people affected by the August flood and their proper rehabilitation.
