DERGAON, Jan 13 � Preparations are on to hold the 69th edition of Dergaon Bhogali Bihu Sanmilan from tomorrow.
The three-day programme will be started by setting a meji afire tomorrow, which will be performed by Jiban Ch Bora. The Bihu flag will be hoisted by the president of the Bihu Sanmilan, Bedanta Kr Bora, in the morning of January 15. It will be followed by felicitation of noted educationist Chandanath Bordoloi at his residence. Sports and literary competitions will be held later.
In the morning of January 16, art competition, dance competition, Go As You Like contest etc will be held among children, while tekeli bhonga contest will be open for all.
In the afternoon, a felicitation programme will be held, where Prabhat Kalita is likely to take part as the chief guest. In the evening, a play by Mahesh Kalita, Pujar Phool, will be staged.
For smooth functioning of the programme, a celebration committee has been formed with Bedanta Kr Bora as president and Paban Ch Bora and Sanjib (Kanu) as secretaries.
