Democracy not in danger: Conrad Sangma

TURA, April 11 - After a bitter-sweet campaign, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma today stated that there was no danger to democracy and the election process itself was testimony to this fact.

Conrad made the statement today after he and his sister, Agatha K Sangma cast their votes at Walbakgre polling station here. Both he and Agatha, NPP�s candidate appeared very confident of a win when counting is completed on May 23.

�The entire process of election is democratic. The past government was also chosen democratically as is the process now. Every election process is a part of democracy and has been happening in a free and fair manner. Whoever the public desires to run the country, will do so,� said Conrad.
