Death anniversary of Capt WA Sangma today

TURA, Oct 24 - West Garo Hills district administration today announced a local holiday on October 25 on the occasion of the 26th death anniversary of Captain Williamson A Sangma , the first Chief Minister of Meghalaya.

�The day has been declared a holiday like last year to honour the life and achievements of Late Captain Sangma. All State Government offices and magisterial courts within the jurisdiction of the district shall remain closed for the day,� said an official release.

An official programme will begin at 9 am tomorrow at William Point, Tura, it added.
