GUWAHATI, Jan 30 Bodoland Peoples Front (BPF) candidate for the Rajya Sabha Biswajit Daimary today asserted that he is confident of winning the election to the Upper House of Parliament, which is scheduled for February 7 next.

Dismissing reports of his withdrawing his candidature, Daimary said that though he had collected the withdrawal form today, he was in no mood to withdraw his candidature.

Talking to this newspaper, he said that Congress, the ally of the BPF, is bound to cast the required votes for his victory. Congress is committed to that.

Congress will have to extend the required support to us to ensure our victory. The other two candidates it has fielded are its liability. It cannot ensure their victory at our cost, Daimary said.

Meanwhile, the Oppositions candidate Haidar Hussain has also refused to withdraw, stating that he is confident of his victory.
