CRPF ADG visits Upper Assam & Arunachal

JORHAT, Aug 13 - CRPF Additional DG Jawed Akhtar along with IGP (Operations) CRPF Jorhat Sector Ajay Kumar Yadav visited Sadia, Roing in Arunachal Pradesh, Digboi and Tinsukia from August 11 to 13 and reviewed preparedness of the personnel of the Central force deployed in the said areas in view of Independence Day celebrations.

A press release issued by the office of the CRPF Operations Sector headquarters based at Rowriah here stated that the top officials while reviewing the security arrangements with local CRPF officers during the visit, also discussed about troop deployment in providing security in NRC work.

Akhtar asked the CRPF officials to remain extra vigilant along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border areas to thwart possible attempts by Ulfa (I) and other insurgent groups, the release said.

The ADG asked the CRPF local commanders to maintain close coordination with State police and Intelligence agencies to ensure a peaceful Independence Day, the release added.
