CPI(M) stir on Feb 4

AGARTALA, Jan 31 - Turning the heat on the BJP Government over the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016, the CPI(M) here has announced a Statewide agitation against the controversial Bill on February 4.

Party secretary Gautam Das today said the BJP-led NDA Government got the Bill passed in the Lok Sabha on the strength of its majority.

�We strongly oppose the Bill and the CPI (M) politburo has already issued a statement against it. It seems the Modi Government is playing with fire. The consequences will be serious,� he warned.

The CPI(M) will stage the agitation on February 4 to mobilise the people against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016, Das said.
