Coronavirus screening at Mizoram border town

AIZAWL, Feb 4 - The Mizoram Government today commenced the screening for coronavirus at Zokhawthar, an Indo-Myanmar border town in Champhai district. A medical team comprising doctors and staff of the State Health and Family Welfare Department is conducting medical check-up of travellers across the border on the basis of their health status and travel history.

Representatives of the district administration were also present to oversee the smooth and proper conduct of the screening.

Meanwhile, the Myanmar Government has started the screening process since January 27. Till date, no patient has been detected and the State Government has advised people not to believe in rumours and refrain from spreading misinformation.
