SILCHAR, Oct 30 - Congress MP from Silchar Sushmita Dev has said that Congress party will regain its lost glory in the ensuing panchayat elections in the State.

Addressing party workers on the sidelines of the visit of Harish Rawat, the AICC general secretary-cum-observer of party in Assam and former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand at Rajiv Bhawan in Silchar, Sushmita Dev said in times of crisis, people who have been loyal to the Congress party shall be given precedence in the forthcoming panchayat elections. I believe, the dedication and commitment shown by the party cadres in the past four-and-a-half years when Congress is in the opposition shall be the force for the party to remove the BJP led Government.

On the other hand, former Minister and frontline Congress leader Siddeque Ahmed slammed All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Badruddin Ajmal for his divisive comments on the Muslims and said that Ajmal is echoing the voices of Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma. He urged upon the cadres to work for the party in the coming days.
