JORABAT, Oct 18 - On the occasion of Kati Bihu, hundreds of people today engaged in community fishing in the water body located at the spot where Bamfore, Bangalbori and Murkata villages of Dimoria meet.

Traditionally, the people of Dimoria do fishing during Bihu. However, during Magh Bihu it is only after the traditional king of Dimoria formally starts the fishing to the accompaniment of a Lalilang song, that others take part in the activity.

A local resident of the area, Pankaj Deka said the community fishing helps in creating a sense of brotherhood and peace among the people.

The Dimoria AASU, meanwhile, wished the people on the occasion of Kati Bihu.
