DIBRUGARH, Nov 7 - Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal virtually launched a website (sasu.ac.in) of Sri Sri Aniruddhadeva Sports University.
The university is the first sports university established in the State by the Government of Assam in Chabua in Dibrugarh district. It is primarily established for research, teaching and education in the field of sports and physical education.
Launching the website, Sonowal said that the sports university made a good beginning and would be successful in promoting sports as well as sports related activities in the State. He hoped that the university would be able to develop a competitive and scientific environment for growth of sports in Assam. He further observed that taking forward the values and ideologies of Sri Sri Aniruddhadeva, the university would move ahead with sincerity.
Vice Chancellor of the university JP Verma, registrar Sanjay Dutta, executive member Dr Paramananda Sonowal, Niranjan Saikia, Professor MN Dutta, among others were present at the launch of the website.
