CM hails artistes for winning coveted awards

GUWAHATI, April 25 - Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi congratulated three artistes from Assam for winning the prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi Award and Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar and hoped that their feat would inspire all concerned in the field of art and culture in the State.

�The State is proud of the trio for their prodigious feat in fields of Sattriya dance and contemporary and experimental dance,� said Gogoi in an official statement, adding that their achievements would be a source of inspiration for all the artistes.

It may be mentioned that Sarodi Saikia has been awarded with the coveted Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for her contribution in the field of Sattriya dance and Seujpriya Borthakur and Shilpika Bordoloi have been awarded with the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for showing excellence in the fields of Sattriya dance and contemporary and experimental dance respectively.
