GUWAHATI, Sept 7 � Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has extended his best wishes to legendary singer Dr Bhupen Hazarika, who will celebrate his 86th birthday tomorrow.
Gogoi, in an official statement, appreciated the contributions made by the maestro in the field of socio-cultural arena. �Dr Hazarika played a crucial role in staging State�s art and culture in the global arena. He is the heartthrob of not only the people of the Assam but the entire country,� Gogoi pointed out.
Meanwhile, the women wing of Pragati Silpi Sangha in association with the Directorate of Cultural Affairs is organizing a programme on Dr Hazarika�s birthday tomorrow at 6 pm at Rabindra Bhawan.
