JORABAT, July 8 - Karunadhara, a social organisation that aims to generate awareness on matters related to the civil societys role towards helping persons with disability or critically ill patients, held an awareness meet at the National Institute for Teacher Education (NIFTE), Khetri.

The event was organised on Sunday by the Jagiroad branch of Karunadhara in association with NIFTE, established under the auspices of the BEF Group of Institutions.

Karunadhara is a privately-run trust, set up for providing assistance to persons with physical or mentally disability who are devoid of any means for medical treatment.

Senior journalist Homen Borgohain, the founder of Karunadhara, lauded Ramcharan Bharali of the BEF Group and asked him to extend the same support to Karunadharas initiative to help the needy. Happiness and peace gained in doing good work is priceless. The ones who dont have this quality can never experience such happiness, even if they are rich, Borgohain said.

A large number of students were present at the event, and Borgohain thanked them and urged them to extend their helping hands to people in need.

Karundhara president Pratul Phukon, secretary Ajit Khatoniar, vice president Nilima Goswami, Jagiroad committee president Munin Borthakur, Dr Rubi Kotoki and cancer specialist Dr Ashok Das were present during the programme.
