City registers 92.63 pc success in CBSE exam

GUWAHATI, May 20 � The Guwahati region of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) registered an impressive 92.63 per cent success rate in the Secondary School Examination, or Class 10 Examinations, 2014.

This marks an improvement on last academic year�s rate of 90.93 per cent in the region, which encompasses the seven North Eastern states and Sikkim.

There were a total of 59,292 registered candidates who appeared for the examinations in the Guwahati region.

Among the various categories of schools, the Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) recorded a pass percentage of 99.73 percent, while it stood at 99.80 per cent in case of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) and 99.41 per cent for independent schools.

The success rate in case of government schools was 88.13 per cent.
