City college students perform in Bhutan

GUWAHATI, July 25 - A group of students from the city-based Pragjyotish College recently gave a cultural performance at the Gyalpozhing College of Information Technologies (GCIT) under the Royal University of Bhutan.

The team from Pragjyotish College performed Bihu, Dashavatar Nritya, Krishna Nritya and Kathak Nritya on the occasion of the final match of the Foundation Day Football Tournament at Mongar in Bhutan.

It may be mentioned here that the football team of the GCIT had played a match in August last year at the SAI ground here with Pragjyotish College as part of the MoU signed between the two educational institutions.

The two institutions had agreed in the MoU to have exchange programmes between them involving teachers, research scholars, office staff and students in the fields of education, sports, culture and other areas.

Dr Manoj Kumar Mahanta, Principal of Pragjyotish College, Chinmoyee Talukdar, Deputy Director of Higher Education, among others, also accompanied the team to Bhutan during the recent visit, said a statement issued today.
