GUWAHATI, Feb 4 - The CID today engaged engineers of the PWD to make an assessment of the valuation of Dulal Boras Koinadhora residence in the city.

An official source said the CID is currently making an assessment of the self-proclaimed RTI activists assets, which are reportedly disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Bora has two residences in the city, the other one being at Rukminigaon, and is also suspected to have amassed a lot of benami property, a CID official said.

We will ask the ED to take up the case. His has only shown an electrical shop at his residence as the source of income. We are also examining his CA, the official added.

Currently, Dulal Bora is in Diphu jail. He was taken to Diphu in connection with another blackmailing case filed there by a senior officer of the Irrigation department.

In his FIR, the Additional Chief Engineer of Irrigation department stated that Bora, without filing any application under the RTI Act, obtained two official documents work orders issued by him.

He used these two documents for his ulterior motive. Using the documents, he lodged a complaint against a retired officer of the Irrigation department and later blackmailed him, the FIR stated, seeking an inquiry as to how Bora obtained the documents and action against him for using them unlawfully.

Meanwhile, the CID has arrested two persons in connection with Boras case so far one of his employees and a deputy ranger. Two others wanted by the CID ranger Pankaj Kalita and a forester I are on anticipatory bail. These accused Forest personnel reportedly dealt with Boras unlawfully acquired cash.
