Chinmoy Choudhury new Advocate General

GUWAHATI, June 28 - Senior advocate of the Gauhati High Court, Chinmoy Choudhury has been appointed as the Advocate General of Assam today.

The State Government also appointed Devojit Saikia, KK Mahanta and Jadav Doley as additional advocates general.

Choudhury, who started practising in the Gauhati High Court in 1983, said that there is need for reforming the system for reducing the burden of cases involving the government departments. He admitted that a huge number of cases involving government departments are pending and said that he would try to look into the issue immediately after assuming office as the Advocate General.
