ITANAGAR, July 17 The Chinese Embassy in New Delhi has agreed to issue visas to five karatekas from Arunachal Pradesh, who will represent India in the 11th Asian Karate-do Championship (Junior and Cadet) to be held at Quanghou City in Fujjian province from July 20 to 25.

The Embassy authorities took the decision after a prolonged discussion with Indian authorities, Arunachal Karate-do Association general secretary Langkung Marik said in a statement today.

Ignoring strong protest by India against the issue of stapled visas to the people of J&K, China in fact had expanded its stapled visa regime to Arunachal last January when the visas were issued to two Arunchalees Indian Weightlifting Federations official Abraham K Techi along with a noted Arunchalee weightlifter. PTI
