Children�s film fest to be held in Sikkim

NAMCHI, Jan 12 - The Children�s Film Society, India (CFSI) will be holding a film festival here in South District in February.

A meeting was held here recently in this connection which was attended by DC (South) Ragul K, ADC (South) Satyan Kumar Pradhan, SDM (HQ) Chiran Rizal and Assistant Distribution Officer of CFSI Pramod Alphanso, among others.

The DC said that students from both Government and private schools will actively take part in the festival.

A special show will be arranged for the children of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute for the Visually Handicapped, Boomtar.

Ragul said that movies will be screened at Imperial Talkies here and also at different schools across the district.

Alphanso said that the Children�s Film Society, an autonomous body under the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, is committed to producing, exhibiting and distributing children�s films.

CFSI has a library of 265 children�s films in 23 languages and some of these films have won national and international awards. With the motto �Promoting Every Child�s Right to Entertainment�, CFSI organises Children�s Film Festivals across the country.
