HAILAKANDI, March 14 - For the first time in Hailakandi, a chess academy was inaugurated.
The academy-Next Move Chess Academy was inaugurated at the premises of Pratishruti Ladies Gym of Ashram Road area of the town.
The inaugural meeting was attended by the presidents of Hailakandi and Cachar district sports associations, Hirakjyoti Chakraborty and Dibyendu Das along with Nirmalya Chakraborty, renowned eye surgeon Dr Sumona Das Bhattacharjee, Satananda Bhattacharjee of Barak Upatyaka Krira Sambadik Sanstha (BUKSS), Monimoy Sinha, vice president of Hailakandi Rotary Club, Shankar Choudhury, Deep Das, Binota Sinha, Bijoyini Bhattacharjee and Pratul Sinha.
