GUWAHATI, April 28 - Veteran journalist DN Chakravartty has been granted absolute pre-arrest bail in connection with a case registered with the Hajo Police Station.
Chakravartty had allegedly made communal remarks at a public function at Hajo on the eve of the recently-concluded Assembly polls, following which the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) lodged the case.
The court granted him the bail considering his age and status, advocate Bijan Mahajan, who moved the bail application, said.
