CFSI�s film bonanza for NE kids

MUMBAI, Oct 20 - As part of its initiative to portray message-oriented films as a strong medium of communication among children, the Children�s Film Society of India (CFSI) has organised an 11-day film festival in Manipur and Sikkim from October 17 to 27.

The festival, which opened in Imphal on October 17, would travel to eight cities in Manipur and Sikkim in the next few days to showcase message-oriented and meaningful films, CFSI said in a release here today.

Early this year, CFSI had presented the second leg of 19th International Children�s Film Festival in Gangtok, which also covered West Sikkim travelling through four districts viz., Geyzing, Yoksom, Bermoik Martam and Tharpuss.

This time CFSI has joined hands with �Smile Foundation�, a national level development organisation which works for children�s health and education, to host the �Children film Bonanza� in Manipur & Sikkim, the release said.

CFSI was setup in 1955 and since then it has produced over 260 films for children including feature films, short films, animations, television episodes and documentaries. � PTI
