GOSSAIGAON, March 11 - Three unidentified motorcycle-borne miscreants robbed Rs 50,000 in cash from a petrol pump at Anthaibari near here on Monday evening.

The miscreants armed with sharp weapons entered the petrol pump, Jogomaya Energy, at around 7 pm and asked one of the employees, Deepankar Ray, to handover the cash. When Ray challenged them, the miscreants tried to abduct him but he somehow managed to escape.

The trio then asked another employee, Dansarang Basumatary, to handover the money but he too refused to oblige as a result of which they attacked Basumatary with a sharp weapon, causing injury to one of his fingers. After that, the miscreants took the cash and fled the spot.

There was no CCTV camera or security guard at the newly-established petrol pump. A case has been registered in this connection at Gossaigaon police station and investigation is on to nab the culprits.
