A large number of people on Thursday protested the dumping of garbage of Hailakandi and Lala town in Kuchila village on the outskirts of Hailakani town. A truck owned by Hailakandi Municipal Board and used for carrying garbage was damaged. He said that they will continue their movement till the dumping ground is not closed down by the municipal authorities. He alleged that they informed the matter to the district administration several times, but no action was taken. He urged the DC to visit the spot.
