Case filed against AAP leader

GUWAHATI, Aug 22 - A case has been registered against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Gurpreet Singh with the Geetanagar Police Station after he allegedly posted an objectionable photograph of a woman in the social media. Police said the accused is being questioned in connection with the complaint.

The case has been registered after a FIR was lodged by the family members of the woman.

Singh had posted the photograph in response to a growing dissent in the social media over a report depicting girls wearing shorts and mini skirts in poor light in a Guwahati-based news channel.

Meanwhile, members of the Sikh community staged a protest in front of the police station alleging that police personnel dressed in uniform entered the Fancy Bazar gurudwara last night.
