TURA, Nov 24 - Garo Hills State Movement Committee (GHSMC) has sought the cancellation of land pattas issued to non-indigenous residents in Bollongre village in West Garo Hills.

In a letter to GHADC CEM, the GHSMC chairman, Nikman Marak sought the intervention of the Council against the illegal settlement of people in the Aking (community land).

Bollongre falls under Aking land and as such pattas cannot be issued to non-indigenous residents of the State. The committee sought the issued pattas to be investigated and to cancel it immediately if any anomalies existed, the GHSMC said.
