Call to widen AK Deb Road

GUWAHATI, Feb 14 � The Nagarik Aikya Mancha, Brihattar Dakshin-Paschim Guwahati, has demanded of the Government to widen the AK Deb Road in view of the increasing volume of vehicular traffic and pedestrians with provision for RCC drain on both sides up to Fatashil bridge, a press release stated.

President Upendra Nath Sarma, working president Mahesh Chandra Medhi, general secretary Biman Bhuyan and assistant general secretary Mouram Das of the Nagarik Aikya Manch have urged the PWD to immediately take up complete renovation and reconstruction work to raise the road wherever necessary and widen the road.

At the onset of monsoon, the condition of the road will worsen. The Aikya Mancha has further requested the PWD authority to monitor the condition of the road, the release added.
