Cachar DC, senior officials volunteer swab sample test

SILCHAR, July 1 - Adding momentum to the ongoing Assam Targetted Surveillance Programme(ATSP), Cachar Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli along with Joint Director of Health Services Dr Sudip Jyoti Das have volunteered to undergo the swab sample tests for COVID-19.

�The pandemic has to be fought armed with information, preparedness and self precaution has to be driven home. To lead by example has always been a pursuit. There is no reason for any fear to take over. We are prepared for whatever is to come,� Jalli told The Assam Tribune.

District Media Expert NHM Suman Choudhury informed that as a part of the ATSP drive, a total of 304 samples were collected.

SMCH students caned: In a tiff with CISF jawans, two MBBS final year students of SMCH were assaulted and left with injuries on Monday.

According to hospital sources, the students with their identity cards were walking along the closed portion of an internal road within the hospital campus when the CISF jawan stopped and quizzed them. Later, the arguments and counter arguments between the two medical students and the CISF jawan grew intense and eventually the students were beaten up by the jawan.
