GUWAHATI, Nov 16 - The British Council, Kolkata, is getting ready to encourage young readers to explore some of the astonishing real-life achievements and world records as featured in the Guinness World Records Books as part of Record Breakers � Reading Challenge 2015.
Every year there is a new theme, and this year the Reading Challenge has teamed up with the Guinness World Records to establish a �Record Breakers� themed Challenge. Record Breakers brings together fact and fiction, challenging young readers to explore astonishing real-life achievements and world records.
Registrations for the challenge has started and will close on December 7. The first 45 registrations will receive an exclusive �Activity Booklet� of fun quizzes, facts and jokes.
Organised by the Reading Agency, UK, in association with the Arts Council of England and the British Council, the annual Reading Challenge is aimed at 5-13 year olds and their families. Children are encouraged to read six or more library books of their choice in six weeks with collectable incentives and rewards, plus a certificate, or medal for every child who completes the Challenge. As they read along, children participate in creative activities and workshops to successfully complete the challenge.
