GUWAHATI, Jan 5 - A book of 37 articles written by a group of the 1974 matriculation batch of St Marys Higher Secondary School, was released by litterateur Arup Kumar Dutta at a programme held at Vivekananda Kendra here on Sunday evening.

The book, titled Reveries: Autumnal Musings of Batch 74 St Marians, Guwahati, is divided into eight sections philosophy, innovation, real life, nostalgia, travel, education, money matters and humour.

Snigdha Menon Das, an alumna of the school, had brought together all the contributors from across the world by opening a WhatsApp group in July 2016.

Ranjita Choudhury, who presided over the book release programme, said, The book is a symbol of unity in the midst of great diversity of Batch 74. It is an outcome of discipline, management skill, adherence to procedural hierarchy among persons, team work and empowerment through technological acceptance, she said.

Sister Catherine, Principal of St Marys HS School, who was the guest of honour, appreciated the batch and their endeavour, and encouraged them to continue their good work. Snigdha Menon Das read out goodwill messages from alumni from across the globe who could not make it to the programme. Mintu Kalita delivered the vote of thanks and mentioned each and every person who contributed towards the creation of the book.
