Body of drowned BSF jawan found

TURA, July 3 - The body of BSF jawan Dharamveer Singh, who belonged to the 55th Battalion, was recovered this morning, two days after he drowned while on a picnic.

On Sunday, the police received reports of Singh (32) being washed away in the Ganol river near the Pelga Dare picnic spot. A team comprising the police, BSF and SDRF personnel, launched a search operation.

�The jawan�s body was found this morning, about 2 km from where he fell into the river. All necessary formalities were done before the body was handed over to the authorities concerned,� said the SP of West Garo Hills, Dr MGR Kumar.
