MANGALDAI, Oct 5 - Laban Sports Club, Shillong moved into the final of the 23rd Bodoland Gold Cup Football Tournament jointly organised by ABSU Dimakuchi Anchalik and Dimakuchi Sports Association at Dimakuchi in Udalguri district.
In the keenly contested second semifinal played at the Dimakuchi Stadium today, Laban Sports Club edged past Jampui Jala Sports Centre, Tripura 6-5 via tie breaker.
In regulation time the match ended in a 2-2 draw. Sagar Debberma and Abhoy Meitei struck a goal each to give the Tripura team a 2-0 lead. However, Ejjingmut Lyngdoh equalised for the Shillong side by scoring in the 43rd minute while he went on to secure his brace with a goal in the 86th minute.
Earlier in the first semifinal, Manipur Yarkhok United Club defeated RBI Sports Club, Mumbai 3-1. The final will be played on October 7.
