BJP gets 16 seats, AGP 2, Cong nil in Morigaon dist

MORIGAON, Dec 19 - The ruling BJP captured 16 seats, the Asom Gana Parishad 2 and Congress nil in 18 seats of Tiwa Autonomous Council poll in Morigaon district, counting of which was held at the Morigaon College today. As declared by the Returning Officer, Morigaon, in Jamadari seat BJP candidate Dulal Brahma defeated his nearest Congress rival by a margin of 504 votes. Dulal Brahma secured 2364 votes while Nandeswar Bordoloi of Congress got 1860 votes. Likewise, in Barangani seat Ankur Deoro of BJP defeated his Congress rival by a margin of 506 votes. Ankur Deori got 2454 while his rival Congress candidate Maliram Pator got 1948 votes.

In Bhurbandha seat, Binoy Konwar (BJP) defeated Congress candidate Nitul Konwar by 1568 votes. Binoy Konwar secured 4208 votes while Nitul Konwar got 2640 votes. In Konwargaon seat Jibon Chandra Konwar (BJP) defeated his nearest Congress rival Dhiren Bordoloi by 1024 votes. Jibon Konwar secured 2966 votes while Dhiren Bordoloi got 1844 votes. In Dhekiphala seat, BJP candidate Binapani Bordloi defeated Bandana Pator of Congress by 1318 votes. Binapani secured 3181 votes while Bandana got 1343 votes.

The Manipur seat was won by Aimoni Pator of BJP defeating Congress candidate Monisha Konwar by a margin of 1175 votes. Aimoni secured 3269 while Monisha got 2094.

The Garmari seat was won by AGP candidate Runamini Boro beating her nearest BJP rival Moromi Pator by 353 votes. Runamini got 2822 votes while Moromi secured 2769 votes.

In Ghaguwa, BJP candidate Mihiram Bordoloi defeated AGP candidate Mantu Bordoloi by 216 votes. Mihiram secured 2194 votes while Mantu got 1978 votes. In Damal, ex- CEM, TAC and BJP candidate Paban Manta defeated Niraj Bordoloi of AGP by a margin of 1371 votes. Manta secured 3263 votes while Niraj Bordoloi secured 1793 votes.

In Tetelia, BJP candidate Khagen Chandra Bordloi won the seat beating Independent candidate and former president of ATSU, Dharma Sing Bordoloi by 813 votes. Khagen Chandra Borddoloi secured 3025 votes while Dharma Sing Bordoloi got 2212 votes.

In Jonbeel, BJP candidate Binita Daimari defeated Congress candidate Dipali Boro by 1625 votes. Binita Daimari got 3371 votes while Dipali Boro secured 1746 votes.

In Na Khula seat, BJP candidate Tulsi Bordoloi won the seat beating Congress rival candidate Maneswar Bordoloi by 1390 votes. Tulsi Bordoloi got 2771 votes while Maneswar Bordoloi secured 1572 votes.

The Nellie-Khola seat was captured by BJP candidate Jibon Konwar. He defeated his nearest Congress rival by 2668 votes. Jibon got 4298 votes while Monkhusi Bordoloi of Congress secured 1630 votes.

In Bihubori seat, Pitambor Bordoloi (BJP) defeated Maheswar Konwar (Congress) by 401 votes. Pitambor got 2571 and Maheswar secured 2116 votes.

In Solmar, BJP candidate Nayanmoni Deori beat Congress candidate Naruttam Deka by 1331 votes. Nayanmoni secured 3947 while Naruttam got 2616 votes.

In Bhumuraguri, BJP candidate Debakanta Bordoloi defeated Independent candidate Jiten Pator by 1051 votes. Debakanta got 2216 votes while Jiten got 1165 votes.

In Charipuniya-Chabukdhar seat Madan Deori of BJP defeated Dulal Deori of Congress by 1932 votes. Madan got 3630 while Dulal secured 1808 votes.

In Borchila seat, the ex-CEM Dharmendra Bordoloi of Congress was defeated by Champeswar Bordoloi of AGP by 326 votes. Champeswar Bordoloi secured 1350 votes while Dharmendra Bordoloi got 1024 votes.
