MORIGAON, March 9 � Internal bickering in the BJP took a nasty turn when the party candidate for Morigaon, Prahlad Bhyuan who was campaigning in the constituency was assaulted by party workers and supporters of another ticket aspirant, Bhadrakanta Nath, at Dandua on the Nagaon-Morigaon PWD Road around 3 pm today.
The irate BJP workers went on a rampage and pelted stones on Bhuyan�s vehicle and badly damaged it. Then they assaulted him. Police rushed to the spot but agitated party workers blocked the road and burnt BJP State president Ranjit Dutta�s effigy. Later police brought the situation under control.
