HAILAKANDI, Feb 1 - The process is under way for constitution of 62 gaon panchayats and anchalik panchayats under five development Blocks across the district.
Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli issued a notification to this effect on Tuesday. She asked the Superintendent of Police to provide necessary security at the venues where the constitution of gaon panchayats and anchalik panchayats will take place. The Deputy Commissioner also authorised officials, namely Rebecca L Changsan, Jyotirmoy Daimary, James Aind, Arpita Dutta Mazumder and Saleh Ahmed Choudhury for taking necessary action in Hailakandi, Lala, Katlicherra, Algapur and South Hailakandi development Blocks respectively.
