MORIGAON, Aug 13 - Several organisations here like AJYCP, Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti and All Koch Rajbongshi Students� Union here expressed serious concern over an incident where a declared foreigner, namely Khairul Islam was involved in the NRC update process at Kolmoubari NSK.
Khairul was declared a Bangladeshi citizen who entered Assam after March 25, 1971. This was declared by the Foreigners Tribunal of Morigaon in Case No. 40/2015. Khairul is a school teacher by profession and he was assisting in the NRC updation process. However, the Morigaon DC Hemen Das through a press release on August 10 clarified that Khairul�s case was pending before the Gauhati High Court and awaiting a final verdict.
