DIBRUGARH, Feb 23 The 12-hour Assam bandh called by All Adivasi Students Association of Assam in protest against the killing of their leader Bosco Chermako in Kokrajhar district passed off with negligible impact in the district headquarter. Barring long-distance buses, all modes of vehicular traffic kept plying on the roads even as businesses, financial and educational institutions functioned normally.

However, normal life was totally paralysed in towns like Moran, Rajgarh, Tengakhat, Chabua and Naharkatia. Police rounded up at least 17 picketers in Moranhat town and later released them.
