Bail plea of 47 accused rejected

NAGAON, June 17 - Nagaon District and Session Court on Wednesday rejected the bail petitions of 47 accused persons in the sensational Abhijit Nath and Nilutpal Das lynching case.

The lawyer of the accused on Tuesday filed the bail petitions for the 47 accused persons and the court postponed the plea hearing for Wednesday. After hearing arguments of both the parties, the court on Wednesday finally rejected the bail petitions.

The lawyer of the accused, Manash Saranya filed the bail petitions in virtual court on Tuesday through video conferencing due to the ongoing restrictions for the COVID-19 pandemic situation, while advocate J Kumar represented the victims� party.
