Killings condemned: United Achik Youth Federation (UAYF) has condemned the spurt of killings and kidnappings taking place in South West Khasi Hills (SWKH) district, adding that the situation was creating a fear psychosis amongst the population.
The NGO further stated that a rally to condemn the violence would be undertaken in Ranikor on January 23.
Recently, a school student of Mawpyllun UP School from Rajai-A village was kidnapped. There were several other cases of brutal killing and abduction, said the NGO.
We demand the release of the abducted student by the kidnappers. The police and administration should do everything to bring back the student safely, the NGO added in a press release.
