Award-winning film screening today

GUWAHATI, Dec 24 - As a Christmas gift to its students, Parijat Academy, a school providing free education to poor children, is going to screen the award winning short film of Kenny Basumatary, Myna and Asterix tomorrow.

According to founder of Parijat Academy Uttam Teron, this film has been chosen because of its strong social message.

The film had bagged the second prize at the prestigious Chicago International Children�s Film Festival 2015. The film, which highlights the impact of materialism on children, has got rave reviews for its portrayal of a relevant issue.

�Our students all come from poverty-stricken families. We are confident that our children will be able to relate to the film,� said Teron.

The film revolves round the life of a schoolgirl Myna, who is in desperate need of an Xbox and sets out in searchof money, only to realise that money doesn�t come easily.
