Award winning docu Fuel screened

GUWAHATI, Dec 30 � Josh Tickell�s award winning documentary Fuel took audience all along on his journey around the world to find solutions to America�s addiction to oil. Fuel shows the way out of the mess the world is in by explaining how to replace every drop of oil while creating green jobs and keeping the money at home. The film does not dwell on the negative, but instead shows easy solutions already within the reach of humanity.

The film was screened at the Guwahati Press Club here on Sunday at 11 am at the inaugural function of �Films for Change� � a community film screenings project.

The project partnered by Assam Times Foundation and Television Trust for the Environment will cover many parts of the North East including Agartala, Aizawl, Dimapur, Dibrugarh, Guwahati, Imphal, Itanagar, Kohima, Shillong, Tezpur between January-March 2014.

�There is a huge information and knowledge deficit, affecting environment and climate change.� Despite a very vibrant media and technological platforms, the space available for most critical humanitarian issues like health, education, livelihoods and environment is alarmingly limited both in TV and mobile media,� said the organizers.

On the other hand, the main objective of the video training for those interested is to equip the participants to use filmmaking solutions and creatively advocate the local environmental issues. This hands-on training will focus on the basics- to use mobile phones for shooting, editing software/applications to make short films/videos, and also, how to conceptualize, script.�A national level online film competition is also part of the project.
