GUWAHATI, June 24 - The Viswa Hindu Parishad Guwahati Mahanagar Samity while resenting missing out on the opportunity to serve Ambubachi pilgrims this year, however welcomed the Kamakhya Temple authorities decision to maintain austerity in view of the prevailing COVID-19 emergency situation.

While this year has been an exception in view of the COVID-19, for the last several years the VHP unit has been rendering service to pilgrims during the annual Ambubachi Mela, said a press release issued by Santi Kumar Singha, president of the VHP Mahanagar Samity.

The VHP leader asked the devotees not to visit the temple during the Ambubachi days and to strictly follow government guidelines on social distancing norms.
